I have been here many times and I have loved the experience each time. I moved away to Southampton for a couple of years and am yet to return but I really am looking forward to it. The service is always great from a lady with blonde short hair and a man called Ben, who always goes out of his way for all guests. His memory is also very good. As you can see from my photos, my sister liked her food so much, she declared her love for the chef.

Me and my partner visited the Sylvan Oak at the beginning of August with family and all we can say is WOW! We were absolutely blown away, from the attentive service from all the staff, the tranquil atmosphere and the outstanding food we all had. Even with it being a smaller venue you feel as if you have your own privacy between tables, which was lovely, as we were able to freely chat amongst ourselves and not feel as if we were disturbing anyone else that was there. While all the staff were amazing, we would like to give a extra special thanks to Ben who made our time there even more enjoyable. From providing recommendations of wines that would compliment our dishes to his attentiveness throughout our booking, he’s an essential asset to the business and makes everyone feel welcomed and well looked after. The food was incredible! You can tell that all the chefs involved have a true passion for what they are serving. Everything is incredibly thought out and all ingredients compliment each other throughout every dish. The variety of different foods available on their menu means everyone can find something to enjoy and tuck into. A couple of us had a look through their cocktail menu and tried their Passionfruit Martini, which we agreed was the best one we’ve ever had. The cocktails alone have convinced us to return to try the others available, what better way to make the most of the atmosphere inside and outside the venue? I would highly recommend, without a doubt, to pop into the Sylvan Oak whether you want a sit down meal or a couple of drinks to unwind from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It truly is a hidden treasure in Findon, and one we hope more people make the most of.

We had another wonderful evening at Sylvan Oak. Despite being fully booked all the staff were attentive and the service was exemplary. Ben was his usual friendly professional self with everyone. Compliments to the chefs for such delicious and beautifully presented food. We will, of course, look forward to returning. Thank you Sylvan Oak!

I took my Mother to lunch at the Sylvan Oak restaurant today, and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We were shown to a lovely window table, and honestly the staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. They were so cheerful and friendly and that always enhances a dining experience. As far as the food was concerned, well,it was superb. The menu choice isn't huge, but honestly we could have picked any item knowing we'd have enjoyed it. In the end we had 2 courses at 40 each which was really well priced in my view. Our main courses were Saddle of Rabbit ,which was fantastic to see on a menu and did not disappoint. It was so delicious and well presented. Our dessert was Peach Melba Cheesecake, again a delight and was so smooth and silky. The atmosphere felt very relaxed and quite intimate and was perfect for a different kind of non-pub Sunday lunch in a very pretty village. It really is to be recommended. I'm just annoyed with myself that I've only just discovered such a gem!

Went for a very special occasion and Ben (front of house) was absolutely outstanding from the second we arrived. It was my parents 60th wedding anniversary and both said that Ben made the whole experience, he’s such an asset to this fabulous little restaurant. We tried a mocktail (secret garden) and the chilli margarita, both delicious. And all courses were beautifully presented and delicious. Couldn’t fault a single thing. All sauces were some of the best we’ve had anywhere, Chef clearly knows what he’s doing! Highly recommend and good value given the quality and quantity of the food, topped off by wonderful service. Thanks for making our special lunch all the more special!

My wife and I visited this place for my birthday and were not disappointed. I could leave a long review about this wonderful fine-dining restaurant but I will just make some observations:- Service - Excellent. Very friendly and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. Atmosphere - nice vibe and very laid back. Food - Incredible! I could not fault any of the food or drink. One of the best restaurants I have been to. An absolute taste extravaganza and all cooked to perfection. I asked the waiter (The boss I think) how the beef fillet would be cooked and he replied 'Beautifully' and he was not wrong. We will return to Sylvan Oak without a doubt. If you want to go and eat somewhere a bit special that is small enough to be intimate but large enough to have a vibe then book a table. You won't regret it.

This is a highly rated restaurant that i have always wanted to try and is tucked away in the Findon village, free on street parking round the corner. On arrival, Manager Ben was on the phone taking bookings and he still managed to provide a warm welcoming and that he will be us very quickly, that I appreciate and is rare to see nowadays. It's early Sunday Lunch sitting and he gave us a great seating area with more room, rather than a tiny table. That's very good service and practice indeed. From start to finish, we have received the highest level of service from Ben, very professional, friendly, and attentive. Food were fresh and tasty, perfectly cooked and presented. See photos, there is nothing that I can fault. Cocktails are 12 each, all made to perfection, alot of the ingredients are home grown and homemade. I have been to lots of restaurant, and Sylvan Oak of Findon is definitely one of the very best restaurant that I have been to. The whole experience is Michellin star like if not better, and at a fraction of the cost. 100% highly recommended and will visit more often in future to sample other items on the menu. Their menu is fixed with 4 to 5 choices on a monthly rotation. Portion size is big, so you could have 2 courses at 40 instead of 3 courses at 50.
